The purpose of the role is to progress existing and new initiatives relating to legislation reform and policy, including the introduction of a new Aboriginal Cultural Heritage Protection Act, and other high priority projects and programs.
About the role
The Senior Project Officer is central to the development and implementation of new Aboriginal cultural heritage protection legislation and other high priority programs. In this position you will:
* Lead and contribute to the development, research, analysis and implementation of programs, policy, projects and legislation relating to the new Aboriginal Cultural Heritage Protection Act.
* Liaise, consult and negotiate with other areas of Government and external stakeholders on policy and legislative development.
* Represent the Department in discussions with interest groups, community groups, and other agencies.

Hours per fortnight: 73.50 hours per fortnight (minimum 58.80 hours, by negotiation).
Period of appointment: Two years.
