Patient support coordinator - part-time (queensland)

About the role:

We have a excellent opportunity for an enthusiastic Patient Support Coordinator with strong administrative skills to join us at Montserrat Medical Services on a part time basis with a minimum 60 hours per fortnight. MMS opening hours are Monday to Friday 8am-6pm, no weekends or public holidays.

Duties and responsibilities:

This role will see you working collaboratively in a multi-disciplinary healthcare team to support patient care needs and deliver exceptional clinical outcomes.

- Ensure a high level of patient and visitor care and service, acting as the first point of contact
- Handling patient bookings and enquiries
- Manage patient billing and receipting
- Make appointments for procedures, prep appointments and consults
- Manage practice arrangements for multiple doctors and businesses
- Manage patient data and paperwork, ready for admissions
- Undertake banking and EFTPOS procedures
- Requires an experienced healthcare administration officer

About You:

You have a genuine passion for providing world‑class patient care and adding value to Australian healthcare. You will have:

- Experience in an administrative role within a medical or hospital setting
- A high level of computer skills particularly Microsoft Office and Patient/ Practice Management Software
- An understanding of the Medicare and Private Health Insurance billing systems
- Ability to develop and maintain strong working relationships with patients, doctors and staff
- Strong organisational skills and a high level of drive
- Adaptability and flexibility to support the patient's needs
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to prioritise and manage urgent requests calmly and efficiently
- Sound knowledge of medical terminology
- Ability to multi‑task with great attention to detail
- Flexibility to work across business opening hours rosters - 8am to 6pm
