Project Coordinator / Mechanical Engineer

As a Project Coordinator / Mechanical Engineer, you will play a key role in delivering fabrication scopes across our workshop operations, coordinating multiple work fronts through planning, execution, and handover to project delivery teams.
This is not just a support role — you will be accountable for planning, coordinating and driving fabrication outcomes, working closely with workshop teams, project engineers, supervisors and leadership to ensure work is delivered safely, efficiently, and to a high standard.
Based onsite at Salisbury, Brisbane, you will be hands‐on in the workshop, identifying issues early, managing competing priorities, and driving practical, timely solutions to maintain momentum across fast‐paced fabrication work fronts.
You will work closely across engineering, procurement, production and workshop teams to maintain workflow continuity, resolve constructability challenges, and support successful project delivery outcomes.

Responsibilities
* Owning fabrication work packs from development through to completion, ensuring they are practical, complete and buildable
* Coordinating with workshop supervisors and production teams to plan sequencing, manage priorities and maintain workflow continuity
* Identifying and resolving design gaps, clashes and constructability issues before they impact production
* Developing ITPs, quality documentation and inspection requirements
* Monitoring progress and driving schedule outcomes across fabrication packages
* Working across engineering, procurement and production teams to manage interfaces and remove constraints
* Supporting efficient use of automation, welding systems and workshop capability
* Contributing to cost awareness through practical planning and minimising rework
* Providing clear and direct communication to internal stakeholders on progress, risks and priorities
* Continuously identifying opportunities to improve fabrication efficiency, sequencing and output
Qualifications
* Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or similar
* Experience within SMP fabrication, construction or heavy industrial project delivery environments
* Strong understanding of fabrication methods across structural steel, piping and mechanical scopes
* Ability to interpret drawings, isometrics and workshop documentation
* Experience developing work packs, quality documentation and fabrication deliverables
* Strong coordination, problem‐solving and communication skills
* Ability to manage multiple priorities and work fronts within a fast‐paced workshop environment
* Comfortable working in a hands‐on environment with regular time spent on the workshop floor supporting trades, resolving issues and driving practical outcomes
* Ability to work effectively under pressure across fast‐moving fabrication work fronts with competing priorities and short look‐ahead planning requirements
* A proactive, solutions‐focused attitude with a strong sense of ownership and accountability
Preferred (Ideal) Qualifications
* Experience within workshop‐based production environments
* Exposure to mining and minerals, industrial or energy projects
* Understanding of QA/NDT and compliance requirements
* Experience working across engineering, fabrication and construction interfaces
* Strong teamwork and stakeholder engagement skills
