About the role
The Grade 3 Senior Social Worker provides high‑quality care to clients and families through the autonomous use of advanced clinical skills. The role requires highly effective communication and strong professional leadership within the multidisciplinary team, the Eastern Health Social Work Department, and the broader organisation. Leveraging their advanced clinical expertise and leadership capabilities, the Senior Social Worker will offer high‑level consultation on professional matters, ensuring the promotion of social work values and excellence in service delivery.
This position is responsible for supporting the implementation of Eastern Health Social Work policies and processes within the multidisciplinary team, in alignment with the directions of the Manager of Social Work and Allied Health. The role also contributes high‑level clinical expertise across Eastern Health Allied Health services, with advanced teamwork, negotiation, and organisational skills essential to fostering strong collaborative relationships, including with the Eastern Health Professional Council in Social Work. This position is based at of Box Hill and functions within the Women and Children Program.

About you
To be successful in this role you will possess:
Eligible for membership of the Australian Association of Social Workers
Evidence of current CPE, as per AASW requirements
Previous health care experience
Previous clinical social work experience in women and children settings
Advanced social work, leadership and management skills as evidenced by seven or more years post qualifying professional experience
Demonstrated advanced knowledge base specific to medical diagnoses and related social health issues
Demonstrated ability to undertake risk management across the continuum of care
Healthcare workers are strongly recommended to follow COVID vaccination recommendations provided in the Australian Immunisation handbook (based on ATAGI advice). Seasonal vaccination against influenza is a mandatory requirement of this role and an offer is conditional on this being up to date prior to employment.
