Mater Mother’s Hospital is offering a Part-Time Obstetrician and Gynaecologist role for 12 months. The position is based at Mater’s South Brisbane campus, providing access to Mater Mothers’ clinical services, education and research facilities. The role includes work within Mater’s private practice model and our busy high-risk maternity service. The employee may also be supported to establish their own private O&G practice, with options for setting up solo or joining private practice groups.
Mater Mothers is Australia’s largest women’s health facility, the largest provider of public-funded women’s healthcare in Queensland, and the country’s biggest private maternity service, delivering quaternary-level maternity care and comprehensive general gynaecological services.
The successful candidate will care for both public obstetric and gynaecology patients and privately funded women in Mater’s low-risk private maternity care model. Although temporary, the role is supported to transition to private practice at Mater in the future. The role requires collaboration with medical, midwifery, allied health and non-clinician colleagues to deliver evidence-based, high-value healthcare, and includes teaching residents and registrars as well as contributing to audits, safety and quality activities and research.
