Our client is an industrial manufacturer seeking a Cost Accountant who can start immediately with a potential for extension and permanent.
About the role
The Cost Accountant role would start off as a 3-month contract with potential for extension or permanent, based full-time at their head office in Bayswater. The role reports into The CFO and is responsible for:
* Maintaining accurate product costs
* Assisting in the preparation of annual product budgets
* Providing pricing and costing analysis to support business opportunities and decisions
* Ensuring the master database is kept up to date and accurate
* Providing accurate reports and reconciliations for a number of different areas of the business
* Calculating customer rebates and accruals and price amendments
* Maintaining process and procedure documentation relating to the role
About you
* Tertiary Qualification in Accounting or similar
* Certified Practising Accountant (CPA), Chartered Accountant (CA) or equivalent
* Experience in costing products in a manufacturing environment
* Good attention to detail
* High critical thinking, analytical and problem-solving skills
* Strong verbal and written communication skills
* Good computer literacy skills and comfort with various types of technology
* Ability to work well as a team and interact with different groups of people
