Overview

MOJ - Administrative Officer

Administrative Officer
Location: St Katherine House, 21-27 St. Katharines Street, Northampton, NN1 2LH. Office based
• Hourly rate: £12.53. Working Days/Hours: 37 hours per week, Monday–Friday, 9:00am–5:00pm. Contract: Temporary until 31 October 2025 with potential extension pending performance and business needs.

Brook Street in partnership with the Ministry of Justice has a fantastic opportunity to join their team as an Administrative Officer. This is a great opportunity to gain valuable exposure/experience working within the Public Sector.


Responsibilities

* Deal with written and verbal communications, including telephone, email, and letter enquiries.
* Complete administrative duties on an ad hoc basis and other grade-appropriate work, contributing to the whole team's work, including collecting and delivering files and bundles.
* Complete filing and post-room duties.
* Operate office equipment.
* Check accuracy and completeness against guidelines or a proforma, e.g. by initiating and verifying results.
* Provide support to colleagues.
* Create and maintain databases, lists, and manuals.


Experience / Qualifications

* Experience dealing with customers.
* Administrative experience.
* Time management skills.
* Confident with technology.
* Proactive thinking.


Clearance and Training

Clearance level: Basic DBS (applied for by Brook Street upon successful application).

Training provided: 1-to-1 with a member of staff and e-learning, then team assistance as needed.

Additional clearance (if applicable): Period of 6 months or longer spent outside the UK in the last 5 years may require an additional overseas police check; responsibility lies with the candidate.
