DEPARTMENT
Ward 4WA is an acute 20 bed inpatient ward within The Alfred, specialising in acute care for patients admitted under the Renal Service (acute kidney disease, chronic kidney disease, peritoneal dialysis and renal transplant care), Vascular Surgery, Endocrinology & Diabetes and Rheumatology. The Acute Dialysis Unit (ADU) is located within Ward 4WA, and provides acute dialysis care for patients within The Alfred, including ICU and other wards. ADU occupies a seven-chair/bed environment, as well as bringing inpatient care to patient bedside in other areas within The Alfred.
The ward works collaboratively with all interdisciplinary team members, focusing on a patient centred approach to meeting patient care needs for a complex group of acute and chronic patients.
POSITION SUMMARY
The Nurse Manager is a professional and clinical leader in Nursing Services and plays a pivotal role in meeting broader organisational imperatives. The Nurse Manager operationalises the core values of nursing at Alfred Health by ensuring a safe and supportive environment for patients and staff. They are accountable for developing staff to deliver excellence in clinical practice and is responsible for managing clinical risk and implementing systems and processes to improve patient outcomes.
The Nurse Manager facilitates effective patient access to clinical services managing both financial and human resources to meet these needs.
QUALIFICATIONS/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
* Registered as a Registered Nurse with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia via AHPRA.
* Masters level qualification or working towards i.e. completion of units to grad cert level.
* Recent extensive clinical nursing experience
* Current and satisfactory Police Check
* Current and satisfactory Working with Children Check according to clinical area
