About the Service
The Transition to Speciality Practice – Oncology position is based at Armidale Rural Referral Hospital, within the Oncology Day Unit. This busy 8-chair unit provides treatment for adults with oncological and haematological diagnoses from Armidale and surrounding communities.
We operate Monday to Friday, delivering safe, compassionate, and person-centred care in collaboration with patients, families, carers, and the broader multidisciplinary team throughout the cancer journey.
Key Responsibilities
* Participate in supernumerary time with the Oncology Clinical Nurse Educator to enhance your skills and knowledge.
* Gain exposure to care coordination and palliative care, developing your expertise in supporting patients and their families.
* Complete the Anti-cancer Drug Administration Course and related clinical competencies to stay up-to-date with the latest treatments and protocols.
* Attend dedicated education days that support completion of a Graduate Certificate in Cancer Nursing, furthering your career development.
Requirements
To succeed in this role, you will need:
* Current registration with AHPRA, ensuring you're eligible to practice as a Registered Nurse in Australia.
* Completion of a Transition New Graduate Program or equivalent in an acute care hospital, demonstrating your ability to adapt to new environments and challenges.
