Responsibilities
ECU is seeking a highly-skilled and motivated skilled to provide expertise and advice to the University community in relation to managing high-risk materials, specifically hazardous substances, radiation, and biosafety/biosecurity. This position will build and sustain relationships with stakeholders and provides high level advice, guidance and operational support on effective WHS risk management relating to hazardous substances, radiation, and biosafety/biosecurity. This role will be instrumental in contributing to sound oversight of these high-risk activities and continually progressing ECU's processes, improvement plans and training to support our researchers and students.
Qualifications
The successful applicant will have:
* Tertiary qualification in a relevant discipline or equivalent experience, or extensive knowledge of WHS legislation related to radiation, biosafety, and hazardous substances.
* Experience in managing high-risk materials and associated systems.
* Robust influencing, networking, and interpersonal skills.
* Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
* Ability to plan, organise, and manage resources efficiently.
You will also demonstrate personal attributes that are congruent with the University's values of Integrity, Respect, Rational Inquiry, Personal Excellence, and Courage.
Benefits & Remuneration
This ongoing, full-time position attracts remuneration of $117,599 to $131,767 pa inclusive of 17% university superannuation contribution.
