CE Group is expanding our delivery footprint in Central Queensland and is seeking an experienced Project Director to lead the strategic delivery of a major new-plant installation within a brownfield mining environment. This is a flagship, long‑term opportunity overseeing electrical, instrumentation and controls (EIC) delivery across a new process plant and supporting infrastructure—including multiple switchrooms, HV/LV distribution, field instrumentation and commissioning readiness—delivered within an operating site. The Role
Reporting to the Operations Manager, you will hold overall accountability for the planning, execution and commercial performance of CE Group’s EIC scope. The Project Director will provide strategic leadership across safety, cost, schedule, resourcing and stakeholder management, while mentoring the onsite delivery team and ensuring alignment with CE Group’s broader project pipeline.
Key Responsibilities
* Provide overall leadership and governance of EIC delivery in a brownfield mining environment
* Set project strategy, execution plans and delivery frameworks from early works through commissioning readiness
* Oversee project controls including programme, cost forecasting, risk, reporting and change management
* Lead and support Project Managers, construction teams, subcontractors and key suppliers
* Drive strong client engagement, contract administration and commercial outcomes
* Ensure best‑practice safety leadership, QA/QC compliance and electrical governance
* Coordinate engineering, procurement and vendor interfaces to manage brownfield constraints and sequencing
* Support long‑term workforce planning and develop a high‑performance delivery culture
About You
* Proven experience as a Project Director, Senior Project Manager or Construction Manager delivering projects in brownfield mining or heavy industrial environments
* Strong technical background in HV/LV, switchrooms, MCCs and plant electrical works (EIC experience highly regarded)
* Demonstrated ability to manage complex interfaces with live operations
* Strategic leader with hands‑on construction experience and strong commercial acumen
* Confident communicator who builds trusted relationships with clients and internal teams
* Strong focus on safety, quality, governance and delivery certainty
