About our Service:
The Medicare Mental Health Centre provides a safe, welcoming environment for people experiencing psychological distress, offering an alternative to presenting to the Emergency Department. We provide access to support from trained mental health professionals within the community, outside a clinical setting.
We offer a range of services including intake and assessments, care treatment planning, care coordination with internal & external services, and brief psychological intervention.
Key Responsibilities:
* Deliver evidence-based clinical care as a member of the multidisciplinary team to achieve better health outcomes for adults aged 18 years and over who experience mental health concerns and their families and carers.
* Conduct intake and assessments, including risk assessments, care treatment planning, care coordination with internal & external services, and provide brief psychological intervention.
Requirements:
1. Must have one of the following: Full registration as an Occupational Therapist or Mental Health Nurse, General or Provisional registration as a Psychologist/Clinical Psychologist OR AASW registration/eligibility as a Social Worker.
2. Must have flexibility to work afternoons & evenings, weekends and public holidays.
3. Knowledge & understanding of the theory underpinning evidence-based interventions & clinical practice as well as demonstrated excellence in the practical application of such, in the areas of mental health and alcohol and drug use.
4. Highly developed communication (including written) and interpersonal skills
5. The ability to engage with people, advocate on their behalf and establish and maintain effective relationships with staff, clients, families & friends and stakeholders.
6. Experience in the use of electronic client/customer management systems, ability to use a desktop computer, and experience with Microsoft Office applications
7. Must be eligible to apply/currently hold a Working With Children Check
8. Must hold/be willing to apply for NDIS worker screening clearance
