This is a Recruitment Pool for Permanent Full Time, Permanent Part Time, Fixed Term Full Time and Fixed Term Part Time. Fixed Term appointments will be made with the possibility of extension(s) and/or permanency. Job Share arrangements may be considered.
Suitable applicants will be placed in a pool from which appointments may be made when similar vacancies occur. Appointments may be made from this pool until 28/06/2026.
What is our Clinical Nurse (Clinical Priority Access) role?
This position, under the direction of the relevant Senior Registered Nurse(s), practises as a Clinical Nurse in keeping with the Australian Nursing and Midwifery Board Registration Standards and Nursing Practice Decision Making Flowchart; provides advanced, comprehensive and evidence-based nursing care to patients as part of a multidisciplinary team; upholds and functions within the core values of the organisation — Care, Respect, Innovation, Teamwork and Integrity. Acts as a role model, providing leadership, support, team building and change management through respect, recognition and collaboration.
Working closely with the clerical/administration, allied health and medical teams, this position provides specialised nursing review and direction of patient referrals, and care pathways of specialty services. The CPAN contributes to the effective functioning of the outpatient administrative services with a clinical focus.
Areas of responsibility
- Reviewing, and appropriately directing patient referrals to the nominated services, applying nursing specialised clinical knowledge and skills.
- Collaboration with medical and clerical teams to problem-solve complex referrals.
- Audit and monitoring of referrals to clinic and specialty service activity.
- Participating and collaborating with the administration and clerical leadership team in implementing effective change management strategies to improve practice by implementing innovative practices.
- Ability to use health applications and other IT programs to document patient care.
