Job Summary
The Assistant Category Buyer role is responsible for supporting the procurement and development of our brand products.
Key Responsibilities:
* Assist in category procurement, including vendor performance evaluation and contract negotiation.
* Monitor inventory levels to maintain adequate stock levels.
* Evaluate vendor performance and assist in the selection and deactivation process.
* Negotiate favorable terms and conditions for contracts.
* Collaborate across departments to ensure timely deliveries.
* Resolve any issues or discrepancies with orders, invoices or deliveries.
* Support product and design development aligned with brand strategy.
* Manage critical path from product conception to delivery.
* Support cost price negotiations and margin management.
* Sample tracking and management, including pre-shoot sample styling notes handover.
* Attend fitting sessions to support Buyers and Designers.
* Assist Buyers with trade analysis and commentary.
* Confirm late fee payment processes with vendors.
* Review best and worst product reports and provide key findings to Category Buyers.
* Run performance reports for internal meetings.
* Assist in completing marketing priorities alongside Buyers.
* Monitor product going live and suggest reshoots as required.
* Conduct comp shops/store visits and share key products/trends/executions with the team.
* Maintain e-comm styling brand briefing and customer profile brand doc.
* Populate re-shoot doc based on informed metrics.
* Manage vendor administration for accuracy.
