Nursing Unit Manager
The Nursing Unit Manager is responsible for the operational management and leadership of nursing staff to ensure the provision of high-quality patient-centered care and nursing excellence at unit/ward level.
Key Responsibilities
* Provide operational management and leadership of nursing staff to ensure the delivery of safe and quality care.
* Ensure effective ward management through clear communication, coaching, and mentoring of staff, as well as monitoring and reporting of performance indicators.
* Develop, implement, and evaluate policies and procedures that support the delivery of safe and quality care.
* Promote a culture of safety, quality improvement, and patient-centered care within the unit/ward.
* Build strong relationships with patients, families, carers, community services, and other healthcare providers to enhance continuity of care.
* Lead and manage a diverse team of nurses/midwives, including student placements, ensuring that their skills and abilities are utilized effectively to achieve outcomes.
* Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to provide holistic care to patients and their families.
Requirements
* Current registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).
* Proven clinical management and leadership experience in a tertiary/district health care facility.
* Holds or working towards relevant postgraduate qualification or equivalent work experience.
* Experience in quality and change management promoting clinical excellence.
