Having built a successful and thriving business on the Eastern Seaboard over the past two decades, our services are extending to include additional Western Australian port calls, so we are looking for the right candidate to help us with our expansion.The Leeward group represents 7+ brands across Liner Shipping, Ro/Ro, Breakbulk and Freight Forwarding, which provides a proactive BDM with all of the tools needed to be successful in a challenging industry. Our new CRM will be rolled out in July, and it is currently being customized as a tool for us to enable our Commercial teams to drive and organize sales activity. Our focus is on the quality and effectiveness of our customer interactions, rather than the quantity. Maximising your conversion rate is the key to success!Exciting times ahead – it is the perfect time to join our team.Your RoleIn this key position, you will develop new opportunities through direct outreach and research across all key industry verticals and proactively manage client portfolios.Your Responsibilities IncludeIdentifying and targeting new business through research and direct contactManaging existing customer accounts and securing repeat businessStrengthening brand presence in regional marketsDeveloping and delivering accurate customer quotationsCollaborating with sales support and customer service to ensure smooth client onboardingUsing our customized CRM tool to drive your sales efforts, and to track activities and opportunitiesLeveraging market data to align customer mix with principal goalsMaintaining expert knowledge of SOPs, tariffs, and pricing structuresWhat We’re Looking ForExperience & Qualifications:Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, or related fieldProven experience in shipping or logistics business development in Western AustraliaA strong understanding of the Western Australian Breakbulk & Ro/Ro market and experience with dealing with customers in this sectorSolid grasp of market research, sales strategy, and customer relationship managementSkillsStrategic planning and market targetingExcellent communication and negotiation skillsProficient in CRM platforms and Microsoft OfficeStrong research, analytical, and presentation abilitiesCollaborative mindset with a passion for team successSuccess In This Role Looks LikeAchieving or exceeding sales targetsGenerating repeat business and growing client accountsExpanding brand awareness in key industriesUsing our CRM correctly to enable accurate progress reviewSmooth client transitions and long-term relationship buildingIdentifying and capturing value-added service opportunities for the rest of our GroupWhy Join Us?At the Leeward Group, we offer more than just a job.
