In this dynamic role, you’ll lead the development and oversight of contractor safety programs, partner closely with project teams and regulatory bodies, and drive a proactive safety culture. If you’re passionate about risk management, influencing safe behaviours, and ensuring best‑practice compliance, this is an exciting opportunity to make a meaningful impact.ResponsibilitiesDevelop, implement, and maintain contractor safety programs aligned with ASC’s WHSE standards.Conduct regular audits, inspections, and risk assessments to ensure compliance with legislation and company policies.Deliver safety training, inductions, and toolbox talks for contractors and subcontractors.Investigate incidents, identify root causes, and lead the implementation of corrective and preventative actions.Collaborate with contractors, project managers, and regulatory authorities on safety performance and compliance.Maintain accurate WHSE records, reports, and documentation to support governance and reporting requirements.Monitor and analyse contractor safety performance metrics to drive continuous improvement.
About you Minimum 5 years’ experience in WHS management, including a strong background in contractor safety oversight.Tertiary qualifications in WHS, Environmental Science, or a related discipline.Strong working knowledge of Commonwealth WHSE legislation, particularly contractor safety requirements.Demonstrated capability in risk assessment, hazard identification, and incident communicator with excellent interpersonal skills for engaging contractors and stakeholders at all levels.Proven experience in designing and delivering safety training and presentations to large groups.Strategic, organised, and adaptable, with the ability to influence without authority and build a strong safety culture.High levels of integrity, resilience, and a customer‑focused approach to problem solving.
Eligibility This role requires a current National Police Clearance and an Australian Defence Security Clearance up to an NV1 level.
