Role
An education support class position in Western Port Secondary College. The role supports educational services for students under supervision, performing tasks consistent with school policy. Duties do not include teacher responsibilities. The role may involve coordination of support staff, health and wellbeing support, and basic technical tasks. The position is full‐time, 5 days per week.
Responsibilities
* Provide routine support for teachers, including assistance with student routines.
* Support communication between teachers and parents.
* Communicate with teachers on routine matters related to students.
* Provide basic physical care and wellbeing support for students such as toileting, meals and lifting.
* Assist students with comprehension of basic tasks and information.
* Address immediate behavioural presentations relating to specific students in alignment with school policy.
* Supervise individuals or small groups of up to four students in classroom settings.
* Assist with coordination of educational programs, rostering, and organising aides.
* Coordinate and support external providers of specialised services.
* Provide medical intervention support to students under specific conditions, with appropriate training.
* Deliver specialised communication support for students and teachers (e.g., AUSLAN, braille).

* Demonstrated capacity to perform duties consistent with established guidelines and collaborate with others.
* Ability to communicate effectively in a team environment, with strong oral and written skills.
* Possess the technical knowledge and expertise relevant to the position.
* Capacity to provide advice and support to management and other staff.
* Commitment to ongoing learning and professional growth.
