Leadership Role in Water Infrastructure
We are seeking a highly experienced and well-connected Principal Civil Engineer to lead our stormwater, integrated water, and flood management services in Victoria.
This is a leadership role that blends technical excellence with business development, ideal for someone with a proven track record of delivering projects and securing work from local councils, Melbourne Water, catchment management authorities, and other Victorian stakeholders.
The successful candidate will have a deep understanding of Victorian planning, water, and environmental regulatory frameworks, as well as demonstrated success in winning and delivering council and water authority projects in Victoria.
Key Responsibilities:
* Lead stormwater drainage design, flood studies, WSUD, and integrated water management strategies
* Provide technical leadership on flood modelling and drainage design, including review and guidance on 1D/2D hydraulic modelling outputs (e.g., TUFLOW, HEC-RAS), supported by specialist modelers
* Engage with councils and water authorities to identify, win, and deliver new projects
* Mentor a growing team of engineers and collaborate across disciplines
* Contribute to proposals, submissions, and strategic growth planning
Key Requirements:
* 10+ years of experience in stormwater, floodplain management, or water infrastructure projects
* Deep understanding of Victorian planning, water, and environmental regulatory frameworks
* Demonstrated success in winning and delivering council and water authority projects in Victoria
* Strong experience leading WSUD, IWM, and flood mitigation strategies, including review of floodplain mapping and coordination of modelling tasks
* Skilled in tools such as TUFLOW, eWater MUSIC, RORB, Civil 3D, and/or 12d
* CPEng and RPEV preferred
* Roadworks and civil infrastructure design experience
* Established local network and client relationships in Victoria's water industry
