Due to a growing pipeline of work, we’re looking for a Civil Designer / Drafter to join our Pre-Contracts team at our Sunshine Coast Head Office. This is an exciting opportunity to become part of a high-performing team working on a wide range of civil construction projects. This role offers a clear pathway for progression within our Pre-Contracts team and an opportunity to engage with leading civil engineering and development companies in Australia. The ideal candidate is driven, forward-thinking, and passionate about problem-solving. You will work closely with the team to deliver outcomes that ensure the success of both Shadforth and our clients through innovation and challenging conventional approaches.
About The Role
As a Civil Designer / Drafter, you’ll collaborate with our pre-contracts team, project managers, and engineers during the pre-contract phase to develop practical, cost-effective, and competitive design solutions.
Key Responsibilities Include
* Earthworks Modelling
* Trunk service modelling
* 3D visualisations/renders
* Retaining Wall Calculation
* Clash detection
* Design reviews and alternative design proposals
* Identify and integrate new or improved technologies
What You Will Bring
* Experience in designing/drafting civil projects, ideally in subdivisions
* Strong AutoCAD and 12D skills
* Ability to identify risks or issues in design and propose alternative solutions
* Excellent communication skills, confident engagement with colleagues, management, clients, and sub-contractors
* Sound numerical ability and attention to detail
* Good organisational skills
