About this role:
We are looking for a skilled professional to join our team as a Regional Safety Specialist. As a member of our global infrastructure team, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the highest standards of safety and security while delivering seemingly infinite capacity at the lowest possible cost for our customers.
This is an exciting opportunity to collaborate with people across various disciplines, including software, hardware, network engineers, supply chain specialists, security experts, operations managers, and other vital roles. You will support our Data Center Planning and Delivery (DCPD) programs, working closely with teams such as Real Estate, Due Diligence, Permitting, Energy, Water, Pre-Construction, Construction, Commissioning, Security, and Procurement to achieve health and safety goals and improve our safety culture.
Key Responsibilities:
* Deploy programs that cover health and safety elements of leadership, planning, support, operational controls, continuous improvement, and performance management.
* Evaluate businesses' compliance with jurisdictional requirements and AWS Safety Management Program (SMP) regulations.
* Review due diligence risk assessments with real estate, preconstruction, construction operations on health and safety aspects of the AWS health and safety management program to ensure adequate implementation.
* Collaborate with DCPD managers to prioritize health and safety in planning and execution in all phases of DCPD projects.
* Evaluate general contractors and AWS deployment vendors' compliance to onboarding requirements in Avetta.
* Host campus health and safety kickoff sessions and review General Contractor and AWS deployment vendor's Construction Safety Management Plans.
* Maintain data and anecdotes in standard reporting tools (Weekly Business Reviews, Monthly Project Reviews) for DCPD and Health and Safety leadership teams.
* Manage and visit 3rd party/internal health and safety resources on DCPD projects (weekly business reviews, monthly project reviews).
* Identify improvement opportunities at project(s), and partner with Data Center Health and Safety (DCHS) Operational Team on regional issues that impact construction/operations handover phases.
