As our Lead Marine Antifouler, you will play a key role in coordinating the antifouling work at Proyacht, a leading marine refit, repair and engineering company based at the Boat Works in Coomera, QLD. This full-time, immediate position requires a competent, hard-working individual with proven experience in the marine industry and a commitment to delivering exceptional results. You will be working alongside our highly skilled team of engineers and shipwrights at the top of their game.
The role
* Thoroughly prepare boat hulls and other submerged surfaces for new antifoul system applications and re-antifouls.
* Apply antifouling coatings using specialised techniques and equipment. Experience with airless spray guns is crucial in this role
* Ensure a high-quality, durable finish that meets industry standards and product specifications at all times
* Maintain a safe, efficient and organised work environment
* Collaborate with the wider Proyacht team to deliver exceptional customer service and ensure work schedules and quality benchmarks are always met
* Adhere to all relevant health, safety and environmental regulations
The person
* Demonstrated experience as a Lead Marine Antifouler (at least 4 years),
* Minimum of 3-5 years marine antifouling experience required
* Strong technical skills in surface preparation, antifouling application and finishing techniques
* Familiarity with a range of antifouling products (Jotun and International paint systems) and their appropriate applications
* Experience with both Jotun and International paint systems is required
* Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to quality workmanship
* Strong safety consciousness and the ability to work safely in a marine environment
* Good communication and customer service skills
* Australian citizens and permanent residents only
* Experience with both new antifouling system applications and re-antifouling is required
