Reporting to the Planning Manager, this position will provide planning support and advice to Operations and Project teams, including providing the project teams with assistance to complete works in accordance with the contract documentation and Decmil standards and procedures.
Core responsibilities include:
* Assist the project teams in completing works in accordance with the contract documentation and Decmil standards and procedures.
* Produce preliminary tenders project programs in accordance with the procedures and tender documentation.
* Assist the project team in compiling contractual claims as required.
* Effective short and long-term plans whilst facilitating the ongoing maintaining, coordinating, and monitoring of the design, procurement, and construction.
* Assist in the provision of key planning and programme status with regards to progress, time, cost, and contractual issues.
* Liaise with the pre-tender staff to produce a preliminary project programme in accordance with procedure.
* On the issue of the contract, review the preliminary project programme to ensure compliance with the contract documents and procedures.
* Demonstrate a commitment to on-site safety and environmental control by ensuring compliance with project risk analysis.
* Throughout the construction phase review, assess the project programme and mark changes as required.
Qualifications
* A tertiary degree in Engineering.
* A minimum of 5–10 years previous experience in a similar position.
* A minimum of 5–10 years in the building / civil construction and resources industries.
* Demonstrated competency in managing various Planning functions, including the provision of routine reports and correspondence, defining problems, collecting data, establishing facts, and drawing valid conclusions.
* Proven capabilities in problem solving and researching innovative ways to reduce costs.
* Proficient in Microsoft Office suite and Primavera.
