**Your new company**

My Client, a Federal Government department, is looking to appoint an EL1 Assistant Director Strategy, Communications and Innovation (LGBTIQA+) to join their busy department.

**Your new role**

We are seeking a passionate highly motivated and experienced individual to make a difference for the LGBTIQA+ community within this department. As a key leader for the department in Communications and Innovation, you will have the authority to resolve issues and risks across wide-ranging activities of substantial depth involving significant detail.

**What you'll need to succeed**

To be considered for this role, you have experience in:

- Designing, implementing, and evaluating policies and communications strategies that will improve the service and experience of LGBTIQA+ customers
- A strong understanding of the LGBTIQA+ community and the issues they face in accessing services and support
- Developing a strategic direction for the work area and aligning longer-term planning with agency goals, values, and objectives to promote the agencies commitments of the LGBTIQA+ strategy
- Excellent communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills
- Designing reports, briefing papers, speeches, Ministerial correspondence and discussion papers for review by Senior Executives
- Managing the development, review and continuous improvement of communications products and resources that promote culturally safe, inclusive and respectful practice of front-line staff and Partners in the Community.
- Leading staff to deliver timely, innovative, efficient, and evidence-based communications and engagement strategies, plans, content, and activities that support the Department's Corporate Plan and project objectives.
- Extensive experience working with and advising Senior Executives to identifying and mitigate potential reputational risks associated with communication, engagement, and policy activities.
- Please note, you must be an Australian Citizen to be eligible for this role.
