Teacher - Primary - Music - Performing ArtsBranch: North Harrisdale Primary SchoolDivision: Independent Public School - South Metropolitan Education RegionSalary: Teacher, $85,610 - $124,046 per annum (pro-rata) (SEA GA 2023)This is a 6-month fixed term, part-time (0.6FTE) position commencing Term 3, 2025North Harrisdale Primary School (PS) is seeking an enthusiastic, skilled 0.6FTE Music & Performing Arts Specialist Teacher to join their dynamic team. It is ideal that you actively support the development of the school's culture, vision, values, and strategic direction. You should work in collaboration with our current Music & Performing Arts Specialist teacher to provide a quality program. Applicants are encouraged to review our Strategic Direction Plan available on our school website prior to applying.As the Music & Performing Arts Specialist, you will have a thorough understanding of the WA Arts curriculum and use the judging standards to effectively assess and report student achievement in Music, Dance and Drama. The successful applicant will ideally plan, teach, and assess challenging and engaging programs, promoting an environment of active and positive learning.You should be highly motivated and committed to the promotion of the Arts within the school. You will ideally co-ordinate and develop an innovative program across the school to excite and inspire students, incorporating teaching a range of instruments, and managing the IMSS program. Suitable applicants possess the vocal and choral skills to support the teaching and management of our choir and collaboratively lead them in school and external performances.The successful applicant will ideally have a background in organising and coordinating music and performing arts school events. Forming strong links with community groups is integral to this role in developing the school's music and performing arts program. Having a willingness to take on extra-curricular activities to enhance learning opportunities for students will be highly regarded.In addition, the successful applicant should have high expectations of themselves and students. You work collaboratively to initiate and engage in professional discussions with the Specialist Team and other colleagues to reflect and continually strive to improve your practice. You contribute to our high-quality teaching and learning environment through continuous professional learning, self-reflection, engaging with current research, and professional development practices.
