About the Role:
The Senior Fund Accountant will be responsible for delivering accurate and timely management accounts and consolidated fund reporting. This includes posting journal entries, preparing account reconciliations, monthly consolidated fund financials, IFRS reporting, cost tracking and budget/project variance analysis.
Key Responsibilities:
• Deliver accurate and timely month end management accounts and consolidated fund reporting
• Review and analyse property accounting prepared by external property managers
• Provide technical accounting and tax advisory for Real Estate transactions to the business on matters such as acquisitions and disposals
• Prepare quarterly unit price reporting to investors
• Prepare annual statutory reports and involvement with financial audit and internal controls audit
• Assist team with compliance, debt management and investment administration across allocated Funds and Project entities
• Involvement in development of and system administration for accounting systems and cost management systems
• Prepare proper instructions for custodians as required
• Cashflow forecasting for funds/projects
• Stay up to date on accounting and tax legislation changes and support the business with relevant updates and training sessions
• Ensure fund operations comply with fund and corporate documentation and internal compliance obligations
• Maintenance of Fund/Project accounting policies working document and continuous documentation of procedures
Requirements:
• Professional Accounting qualification (CA or CPA) with at least 2+ years post CA/CPA qualification experience
• 5 + years accounting experience
• High attention to detail
• Team player
• Experience with large accounting systems (MRI essential)
• Proficiency in MS Excel (Intermediate)
• Prior experience with consolidation essential
• Funds management, financial services or property industry exposure essential
