Australian National Capital Artists (ANCA) is an independent not-for-profit artist-run initiative in Canberra.
ANCA fosters creativity and innovation by providing affordable, professional studio spaces and a vibrant gallery for contemporary artists. With 35 studios across two campuses (Dickson and Mitchell) and a program of cutting-edge exhibitions and events, ANCA has been a cornerstone of the ACT arts community for three decades.
Role Description
We are seeking a Treasurer with responsibility for overseeing the financial administration of the organisation.
This includes ensuring accurate financial records are kept, reviewing monthly financial reports, preparing the annual budget, and providing advice and information to the Board while participating in the Board’s decision making process.
The Treasurer works in communication with the ANCA Studio Manager and bookkeeper to ensure that ANCA remains compliant with all financial and reporting obligations.
Qualifications
* Financial management and budgeting skills
* Experience in financial reporting and planning
* Knowledge of accounting principles and practices
* Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
* Attention to detail and accuracy in financial data
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills
* Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, or related field is favourable but not necessary
* Experience in the arts or non-profit sector is a plus
As a Board member, you will:
* Participate in monthly governance meetings
* Contribute to strategic planning and project-based work
* Play a pivotal role in shaping ANCA’s legacy as one of the ACT’s oldest and most respected artist-run initiatives
