German and German as foreign language (DAF) IB Teacher

The German International School Sydney (GISS) is currently seeking an experienced German and German as foreign language (DAF) IB Teacher to join our dynamic team on a part-time basis. The successful candidate will deliver high-quality teaching and learning within the IB Diploma Programme (DP) in German A, B and/or ab initio.

Preferred Language Requirements

As a bilingual school (German/English), proficiency in both languages is essential for this role.

Key Attributes & Skills:

- Current NESA teacher accreditation
- Current Working with Children Check
- The right to work in Australia or eligibility to gain work rights
- Demonstrated experience and effectiveness in teaching German and German as a foreign language in the IB.
- A flexible team player with an international, growth mindset, contributing positively and collaboratively to a multi-disciplinary teaching team.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with students, parents/carers, and colleagues.
- Commitment to career development through staff training, continuous school improvement meetings, and other learning opportunities.
- Dedication to meeting the needs of a diverse student population in a bilingual, international, inclusive, and non-selective learning environment.
- Willingness to embrace and promote our school's values, mission, and vision.

This part-time position will be available from Term 1, 2026 (27 January) and is offered as a fixed-term contract until 26 June 2026.
