Job Description
Oaks Port Douglas Resort are looking for a part -time Cook who is passionate about creating delicious meals and delivering a high standard of food service to join the team.
As a Cook, you will play a key role in supporting the smooth operation of the kitchen. You'll prepare and cook a range of dishes to a consistently high standard, maintain a clean and organised workspace, and work collaboratively with the team to ensure every guest enjoys a memorable dining experience.
Key Responsibilities Include:
* Prepare ingredients and assist with the cooking and plating of meals.
* Cook a variety of dishes in line with menu standards and guest expectations.
* Ensure great presentation of meals before service.
* Maintain proper food storage, safety, and hygiene standards.
* Keep the kitchen clean, organised, and compliant with health and safety regulations.
Shift Details (subject to change):
* Rotating roster across Monday to Sunday
* Shift times scheduled across breakfast, lunch and dinner periods
* Split shifts required on some days
* Immediate start available
Hourly rates (excluding super):
Monday - Friday: $32.31 per hour
Saturday: $38.78 per hour
Sunday: $45.24 per hour
Qualifications
To be successful you will have:
* Proven experience as a cook or in a similar kitchen role.
* Knowledge of various cooking procedures and methods.
* Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a team.
* A positive, proactive attitude and genuine passion for cooking.
* Flexibility to work a range of shifts, including weekends and public holidays.
