Grounds Staff - Council
The council in Sydney city is looking for a dedicated and qualified gardener to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for the upkeep and improvement of public parks, gardens, and other green spaces within the council area.
This is a perfect opportunity to get your foot in the door with a local government organisation.
Your daily job responsibilities will include:
Perform regular maintenance tasks such as
-Hand weeding
- Hedging
- Mowing
- Brush cutting/whipper snippering
- Weed spraying
- Mulching
- Daily playground inspections
- Planting
- Laying turf
- Pruning shrubs
- Litter picking
* Operate and maintain gardening tools and machinery.
* Collaborate with other council staff and community members to enhance public spaces.
What you'll need to succeed:
* Certificate 3 in Horticulture or equivalent experience
* Experience with mobile devices is essential. Our staff use iPads to log daily work through the Confirm Connect program, including taking photos of completed tasks.
* MR / HR licence is highly desirable.
* White card
