The Opportunity
We are seeking a Lead Mechanical Engineer to join our growing team in Adelaide. With a strong pipeline of multi-discipline projects across the Minerals Processing, Energy, and Chemicals sectors, this role offers technical leadership and mentorship opportunities for engineering teams.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead mechanical engineering scopes for minerals processing and mining projects, ensuring technical compliance with client standards and seamless integration into new and existing facilities.
* Provide mechanical design and analysis for piping systems, tanks, vessels, pressure equipment, materials handling, and rotating equipment, including calculation, risk assessments, and failure investigations to enhance reliability and safety.
* Select mechanical equipment aligning with client/industry requirements and Australian/international standards where applicable.
* Mentor and lead engineering teams, fostering professional development and ensuring high-quality project outcomes.
* Oversee and manage the mechanical and piping discipline project delivery within scope, budget, and schedule, while maintaining safety and quality standards.
* Collaborate with multi-discipline teams, clients, and site personnel to develop and implement practical engineering solutions.
Requirements
* Tertiary degree in Mechanical Engineering, with CPEng/RPEng and RPEQ.
* A minimum of 10 years of industry experience, including project delivery and work on multi-discipline projects across various engineering phases.
* Demonstrated experience in mechanical and piping engineering, including the design of tanks and vessels following industry codes and FEA (mandatory) and performing pipe stress analysis (desirable).
* Proven ability to lead teams, mentor engineers, and engage stakeholders effectively.
* Proficiency in engineering design tools, MS Office, and technical documentation.
* Strong verbal and written communication skills.
