Our large NSW State Government client functions to reduce violence, crime and fear throughout the NSW Community.
About the Role
They are currently seeking a highly experienced Manager, Workers' Compensation Claims to lead and drive team performance.
Reporting to the Manager, Workers Insurance, you will be required to drive the service delivery through effective leadership and management of two teams, Workers Compensation and Income Protection.
Responsibilities
Manage, monitor and review claim and payment processes to ensure benefits and entitlements are paid correctly
Oversight of all workers supplementary support payment compliance and quality assurance including the payment of 'Self Managed' Income Protection Payments
Oversight of maintaining all electronic records management systems
Provide expertise and advice in relation to workers compensation wage claim benefits, supplementary support payments, entitlements and reimbursements to claimants, commands, senior management and external stakeholders
Work collaboratively with the organisations Treasury Managed Fund (TMF) workers compensation provider
Provide strategic direction by reviewing compliance and developing process improvements consistent with legislation
Contribute to User Acceptance Testing (UAT) with key partners
About you
Tertiary Qualifications within Workers Compensation, Income Protection or an equivalent field
Proven experience interpreting Workers Compensation Legislation including calculation of PAWE/PIAWE
Extensive experience in a highly transactional Insurance/payroll related environment
Thorough understanding of Police Blue Ribbon Insurance (PBRI) Scheme
Demonstrated Leadership / Managerial experience
Impeccable communication skills, both verbal and written
Self-sufficient, autonomous and excellent decision-making skills
Problem solving, conflict resolution and negotiation skills
Superior organisational skills with the ability to multi-task and prioritise conflicting deadlines
Strong computer literacy and proficiency with MS office suite
Valid Baseline security clearances & willingness to undergo pre-employment checks
