About the Role
As an Emergency Department Administration Officer you will be based at Royal Prince Alfred Hospital (RPAH).
You will perform administrative functions to support effective patient care, including collecting demographic details for accurate patient registration, interviewing patients for their financial election, processing admissions, discharging patients, and other administrative duties.
You will work a 24/7 rotating shift pattern comprising weekday, weekend, and public holiday shifts.
All shifts are 8 hours in duration and are rostered across morning (07:*****:30), afternoon (15:*****:30), and night (23:*****:30) shifts.
Responsibilities
Collect demographic details for accurate patient registration.
Interview patients for their financial election and process admissions.
Process patient discharges and perform associated administrative duties.
Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to support effective patient care.
Ideal Candidate
Experience or knowledge of hospitals and healthcare systems, and IT experience.
Excellent written and oral communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to use initiative, work independently and as part of a multi-disciplinary team.
