Your role
Slater and Gordon’s National Abuse team is expanding and seeking a Law Clerk to join their Newcastle office. As part of this team, the Law Clerk will support lawyers in advancing civil claims for clients who were abused as children in schools, juvenile detention centres, and other institutions.
Some key responsibilities include:
* Review, analyse and summarise documentation
* Preparing legal correspondence, court documents and briefs when required
* Ensuring compliance with relevant rules and regulations
* Working closely with the legal teams to advance legal matters for clients

About you
Ideally, you will have the following:
* A keen interest in personal injury law, either as a current law student or similar.
* Exposure to Abuse Law or a similar plaintiff personal injury practice (highly desirable)
* A natural passion for helping people and a high level of empathy
* Exceptional experience in communication and customer service
* Excellent written and drafting skills
* Recognise the importance of attention to detail and time management
* Demonstrated organisational skills and the ability to multi-task
* Ability to work autonomously as well as in a team environment
* A willingness to learn
* Proactive approach and initiative

With a focus on delivering impactful results, the clerk will be a key contributor to advancing client claims, where attention to detail, responsiveness, and a positive, solutions-focused attitude will play a crucial role in achieving justice for survivors.
