Our Opportunity

As an Electrical Engineer based in our Mackay QLD office, you’ll be a key contributor to engineering projects that shape how the mining and industrial sectors operate. You'll play an essential role in designing, documenting, and delivering innovative electrical equipment solutions.

Your Role

This is a dynamic and rewarding role where you will:

* Deliver complete electrical designs and manufacturing documentation that meet customer requirements and relevant Australian Standards.

* Provide ongoing technical support to production teams and ensure that all engineered solutions are practical, safe, and compliant.

* Collaborate with customers, vendors, project managers, and manufacturing teams to ensure seamless project delivery.

* Support continuous improvement efforts including standardisation, digitalisation of documentation, and process optimisation.

* Participate in project planning and execution phases, including commissioning as required.

* Use AutoCAD, EPLAN, or similar tools to produce schematics, wiring diagrams, and general arrangements.

* Maintain engineering workflows and reporting systems (JIRA, Tempo, etc.).

You’ll be part of a highly supportive and collaborative team of more than 30 engineers ranging in experience from cadets to senior leaders, with mentorship and career development opportunities at your fingertips.

The Right Person

To succeed in this role, you will be:

* Degree qualified in Electrical Engineering, with 5+ years post-graduate experience, ideally working in the coal or mining sector.

* Confident in applying electrical design principles and Australian Standards (e.g., AS/NZS 3000, AS 61439).

* Proficient in electrical design software such as AutoCAD, EPLAN, or similar.

* Able to manage your time and projects efficiently and meet deadlines.

* An excellent communicator with strong stakeholder engagement skills.

* Comfortable shifting between detailed design and customer interaction.

* Proactive, solutions-oriented, and ready to mentor or support junior engineers when needed.

Feel like you don’t quite fit the mould? We would still love to see your application and discuss how your skills could complement our growing team.

The Luxuries NEPEAN Offers
* Great team culture built on collaboration and innovation

* Competitive salary/hourly rate based on experience

* Flexible working arrangements

* Exciting growth and career development opportunities

* Exposure to large-scale and technically challenging projects in the mining sector

If you're an experienced Electrical Engineer ready to take on a new challenge with a well-established industry leader, we’d love to hear from you. Please submit your cover letter and resume for consideration.
