That's truly rewarding work that will help us continue to deliver life‑critical services where it matters.

About the role

We're seeking an experienced Payroll Officer to join our Finance & Governance Division based in Geelong. As our newest Payroll Officer you'll play a crucial role in delivering accurate, efficient and timely payroll activities for our employees.

Reporting to the Payroll Lead, you will go beyond processing fortnightly pay‑runs and updating employee records; you'll use a systems thinking approach to see the bigger picture, understanding how payroll connects to the broader financial ecosystem of the TAC.

This role requires you to collaborate closely with People Culture and Engagement to ensure seamless internal processes, proactively addressing queries with empathy and insight to support our workforce. You will also maintain up‑to‑date payroll documentation, process new hires in Aurion, and handle ad‑hoc tasks such as Work Cover payments or prior service calculations.

If you're someone who thrives on precision, values teamwork and can adapt to evolving needs while keeping the broader impact in mind, this role offers you the opportunity to make a real difference in a dynamic, purpose‑driven organisation.

About the team

The Finance & Governance Division prides itself on fostering a culture of collaboration and continuous improvement. Each team member is empowered to excel and contribute to the overall success of the TAC's strategy. You will sit in a team of four and work alongside skilled professionals who are committed to a high‑performing culture, also working closely with the People Culture and Engagement Division.

Demonstrated experience in using payroll software and assisting with periodic pay‑run processing is essential, along with intermediate Excel skills to extract and manipulate data for reporting. Familiarity with Aurion payroll software is highly advantageous.

Attention to Detail

Excellent organisational skills and a keen eye for accuracy is required to ensure employee records, payments and processes are up to date and accurate at all times.
