About the role
JA-NUKA PTY LTD T/A 8848 Momo House, Rockhampton is seeking an experienced Chef/Cook to join our talented culinary team in Rockhampton, Queensland. As a full-time, permanent position, this is an exciting opportunity to showcase your passion for creating delicious, high-quality meals and contribute to the success of our thriving hospitality business.
What you'll be doing
* Monitor and regulate the operating temperature of cooking equipment to ensure compliance with food safety standards.
* Oversee the storage of food items in temperature-controlled facilities to maintain quality and hygiene.
* Provide training and guidance to other staff members and required to ensure adherence to operational and safety procedures.
* Prepare and cook a variety of dishes according to established recipes and presentation standards
* Ensure consistently high standards of food quality, taste and presentation
* Assist in the planning and development of seasonal menus
* Maintain a clean and organised kitchen environment
* Work collaboratively with the kitchen team to deliver an exceptional dining experience for our customers
What we're looking for
* Certificate IV in Commercial Cookery(Diploma in Hospitality Management will be highly regarded).
* At least one year of proven experience as a chef or Cook in a similar hospitality environment.
* Excellent knowledge of food preparation, cooking techniques and presentation
* Strong attention to detail and ability to work well under pressure
* Excellent time management and organisational skillsPassion for creating delicious, visually appealing meals
* Ability to work effectively as part of a team
