About our role

We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Learning & Development Lead on a 6-month max-term contract to design Nova's technical competency framework.

The primary focus of this role is to define the technical competencies required across key roles in the business. Drawing on industry models, you will work closely with technical SMEs and leaders to capture what good looks like at different levels and translate this into a structured framework. In addition, you will also continue the implementation of the L&D operating model, enabling the business to develop quality training.

This is a hands‐on role for someone who can quickly build trust with stakeholders and turn complex technical capability requirements into something clear, practical and usable. The framework will provide a foundation for how technical capability is developed across the organisation and support learning, career development and future workforce planning.

This contract offers a genuine opportunity to shape what technical excellence looks like at Nova and leave a lasting impact on how capability is defined across the business.

What you will be involved with

* Leading the end‐to‐end design of Nova's technical competency framework for key roles.
* Working closely with business SMEs to capture what good looks like at each level.
* Providing clear recommendations for how the framework should be implemented across the employee lifecycle.
* Embedding the L&D governance framework for technical training to support content quality, consistency and a strong learner experience.
* Partnering with leaders to identify capability gaps and prioritise targeted learning solutions aligned to business strategy and workforce plans.
* Supporting enterprise‐wide delivery standards, evaluation and continuous improvement through training data, feedback and structured review cycles.

What we would like from you

* Proven experience developing technical competency frameworks.
* Strong consulting and facilitation skills where you can quickly understand stakeholder needs, translate them into fit‐for‐purpose outcomes, and influence with credibility.
* Demonstrated ability to set up practical governance for learning content and programs, balancing quality, consistency and pace.
* Comfortable working in a project‐based role at pace, pragmatic, organised and outcomes‐focused, with a bias to action.
* Experience with LMS administration/optimisation and using data and feedback to drive continuous improvement.
