Disability Support Worker

Cerebral Palsy Support Network (CPSN) is seeking a female Disability Support Worker to provide individualised, community‐based support to a 25‐year‐old man with cerebral palsy living in Tylden, Victoria.
This role suits someone who values relationship‐based care and enjoys supporting people to live active, meaningful lives within their community.
About the Role
You will provide one‐to‐one support that promotes independence, dignity, and participation both at home and in the local community. The client enjoys a wide range of social and outdoor activities, and the role offers variety, consistency, and genuine connection.
Key responsibilities include:
* Personal care support, including showering and dressing
* Supporting therapy and exercise programs at home
* Cooking and meal preparation
* Transport to appointments and community activities using a modified family vehicle
* Supporting participation in social and recreational activities
* Working alongside a family member for some support tasks (2:1 support where required)
About the Person
The client enjoys:
* Walks, picnics, and time outdoors
* Beach and pool visits
* Scouts and structured group activities
* Men's shed visits
* Listening to music and engaging socially

About You
You are a compassionate and reliable support worker who brings a person‐centred approach to your work. You will ideally have:
* Experience in disability support, or a strong willingness to learn
* Confidence working within a family home
* A current unrestricted driver's licence
* Interest in communication support, including eye‐gaze technology (training provided)
* Strong communication skills, professionalism, and flexibility
Employment Details
* Casual employment under the SHADS Home Care Award
* Pay rate: $37.60 per hour + shift penalty rates + super
* Regular weekday shifts, typically between 9:00am and 3:30pm
* Ongoing and consistent work
Essential Requirements
* NDIS Worker Screening Check
* Current First Aid and CPR certification
* Physical capacity to meet role requirements
