About the role

As the Service Manager of Jabiru Petrie, you will have an opportunity to shape this 120 place service while building positive relationships with the children, their families, your staff, the school leadership team and broader community.

With the support of an effective, dedicated Assistant Service Manager, you will lead a team of educators who have proven commitment to this service, across before and after care school care during the school term, and also during vacation care.

Together you will continue to create engaging, inclusive activities that foster children’s learning, development, and wellbeing to bring out their best, in a well facilitated open plan OSHC space, that has free flowing access to outside spaces where the children thrive.

Our OSHC hours

Before and after school care hours at Petrie: Monday to Friday, 6:00am-8:40am and 3:00pm-6.00pm

Vacation care hours: Monday to Friday, 6:00am-6.00pm

About you

As an experienced leader working with children, you will thrive on the opportunity to oversee all aspects of the OSHC service at Petrie, while creating a positive environment for your team, the children and their families.

Your experience and love of organising, planning and mentoring, will mean you can hit the ground running to ensure the smooth running of the service that provides children and their families our best support because they need it more than ever.

You are someone who wants to make a difference and using your creative flair, will work with your team to develop and implement high quality programs that allow our children to have fun and learn in a safe, nurturing and supportive environment.

Critically, you are a leader that inspires people to be their best so that together you can create a space that staff love to work in and children will thrive in. Your leadership skills will also allow you to create positive working relationships with all stakeholders and work in a dynamic environment with ease.

With our support, you will have responsibility for making sure the service is compliant with relevant regulations and standards, and manage financial planning and budgets for the service.

Qualifications

We are looking for applicants with the following qualifications or studying toward:

•Completed Diploma in Outside School Hours Care or Early Childhood Education and Care

•2-year full time equivalent in studying any of the following qualifications: Primary, Secondary or Special Education, Nursing, Physiotherapy, Occupational Therapy, Diversional Therapy, Speech Pathology, Creative Arts, Fine Arts, Drama, Music, Sport and Recreational

•Current Blue Card

•Current First Aid & CPR or willing to obtain

•Previous experience working with diverse communities is an asset
