Portfolio Lead/Supply Chain Manager - Mechanical Products
This is a career-defining opportunity for an experienced Portfolio Lead/Supply Chain Manager to step into full ownership of the procurement function for a successful, Australian-owned manufacturing group that designs and builds products that go into large infrastructure sectors.
Based in Northern Vic, youwill lead a teamthat supports procurement functionsand be the primary interface between the business and its domestic and international suppliersand subcontractors.

Key Responsibilities
* Full-cycle procurement: sourcing, tendering, negotiation, contract management, and supplier performance management
* Ensure subcontractor scopes are reviewed, approved and delivered on time whilst controlling risks to commercial, safety and quality.
* Manage direct materials spend (steel, components, products and services
* Drive cost reduction while maintaining quality and delivery performance
* Oversee inventory levels, stock optimisation, and introduction of new parts
* Support the Sales team with accurate and timely costing/quoting
* Lead and developthe existingprocurement team
About You
* 8–15+ years procurement/supply chain experience withinengineering, heavy industry, construction, or project-based businesses
* Strong experience managing subcontractors from award to close out (including writing and reviewing scope of works where required).
* Proven negotiation skills with suppliers, or steel component suppliers highly regarded
* Strong ERP experience (Pronto, MYOB, SAP, etc.) and a track record of driving system improvements
* Experience managing inventory and stock control
* Comfortable in a hands-on leadership role
* Excellent stakeholder management, strong communication and negotiation skills
* Formal qualifications (CIPS, degree, or trade background) advantageous but not essential
