Buru Rehab is an award-winning and proudly Aboriginal owned earthworks and mining services contractor. Our core business covers mine rehabilitation and site services for projects throughout Western Australia.
Our mission and values drive our passion to break down barriers and provide real and meaningful opportunity for local Indigenous people and businesses to work on, and heal, their Country through our projects.
Buru Rehab is growing, and we're looking for an experienced HSEQT Manager to lead and strengthen our Health, Safety, Environment, Quality and Training functions across the business.
This is a key leadership role for someone who enjoys being in the field, partnering with project teams, and driving practical, culturally appropriate HSEQT outcomes — not just paperwork.
You'll work closely with Project teams and leadership to support the safe execution of projects across Western Australia, while continuously improving systems, capability and culture.
Your role will include
* Providing strong leadership and oversight of HSEQT systems and processes across all projects across WA whilst supporting and coaching Project Managers and Site teams.
* Managing contractor HSEQT requirements including review of documentation ensuring it aligns with Buru and Client IMS.
* Leading and managing risk management activities, reviews and improvement initiatives.
* Conducting internal audits, workplace inspections and coordinating external audits to maintain ISO certification.
* Developing and leading site-wide HSEQT programs and continuous improvement initiatives.
* Conducting, facilitating and leading ICAM investigations.
* Leading the development and ongoing improvement of the Learning Management System (LMS).
* Reviewing, managing and coordinating business-wide training compliance, including Cert IV Trainer Assessor support to projects.
* Maintaining HSEQT systems and platforms including MyOSH, ChemAlert, Rapid Crews and company registers.
* Taking a lead role in Emergency Response activities alongside site leadership.
* Managing monthly HSEQT communications, including Toolbox Talk packs and HSEQ Alerts.
* Developing culturally appropriate, practical and easy-to-use Work Instructions and training materials.
What You'll Bring
We're looking for a confident, practical leader who balances compliance with real-world operations and genuinely cares about people and safety.
* Tertiary qualification in Work Health & Safety, Quality Management or a related discipline.
* Cert IV Training and Assessment.
* 5+ years' experience in a similar HSEQT management role.
* 5+ years' experience in the mining or construction industry.
* Experience implementing and maintaining ISO 45001, ISO 14001, ISO 9001 & ISO 55001 systems.
* ICAM Lead Investigator qualification.
* Qualifications or experience in Rehabilitation & Return to Work.
* Lead Auditor qualification (desirable).
* Current manual 'C' Class Driver's Licence and First Aid Certificate.
* Strong communication skills with a respectful, down-to-earth approach aligned with Buru's values.
* Ability to build trust, influence leaders and work collaboratively across diverse teams.
At Buru, we are committed to our people and their development. We offer an inclusive, supportive and rewarding work environment where safety, culture and connection genuinely matter.
