We are seeking an experienced Urban Planner to join an established, multidisciplinary planning team on a contract basis. This role is well-suited to professionals from a consulting background who are looking to apply their skills across a diverse portfolio of community infrastructure projects.
About the Role
The successful candidate will provide high-level project and planning expertise, including:
* Preparing detailed planning reports, feasibility assessments, and research outputs.
* Managing and lodging development applications across a range of project scales and complexities.
* Conducting site inspections and coordinating urban planning projects.
* Delivering cost-effective project management and providing technical planning advice.
* Supporting projects from early due diligence and feasibility through to approvals and delivery.
Projects range from small-scale community facilities through to major public transport and community infrastructure developments.
About You
We are looking for a candidate who brings:
* Strong working knowledge of Queensland planning legislation, as well as local, state, and federal government planning provisions and systems.
* Demonstrated experience preparing and managing a wide range of land use development applications in an urban context.
* A background on the applicant-side, ideally within a planning consultancy, rather than purely development assessment.
* The ability to manage competing priorities and deliver high-quality outcomes under tight timeframes.
What We Offer
* Flexible hourly rate contract engagement.
* Exposure to diverse, meaningful community and infrastructure projects.
* Opportunity to work alongside a highly experienced planning team with broad expertise.
* A supportive professional environment that values technical excellence and collaborative delivery.
