In this important position, you’ll be responsible for leading and coordinating a team of Theatre Orderlies to ensure the smooth and efficient operation of orderly services within the Operating Theatre suite. You’ll play a key role in maintaining high standards of patient care and safety by overseeing patient transfers, managing surgical equipment movement, and supporting clinical staff with the setup and turnover of theatres. As the Charge Theatre Orderly, you will provide day-to-day guidance and leadership to your team, while working collaboratively with theatre staff to maintain seamless workflows and service delivery. Your commitment to excellent communication, attention to detail and a strong understanding of theatre protocols will help create a supportive, well-organised environment where patient care is the priority. About You To be successful in this role, you’ll bring a strong mix of leadership, communication, and organisational skills, combined with relevant qualifications and practical experience in the Operating Theatre setting. You’ll be a confident decision-maker with a commitment to safety, teamwork, and delivering quality patient care. Completed an AQF Certificate III or Mayfield Theatre Attendant course. Demonstrated leadership, delegation, and effective communication skills. Proven ability to organise, prioritise tasks, and manage theatre workflows. Sound knowledge of relevant legislation, standards, and healthcare protocols.
