Coastwide Engineering has been operating since 1972. We employ 100+ people across multiple divisions and deliver fabrication, CNC machining, maintenance, breakdown, shutdown and project work to heavy industry.
We've built long-term relationships with clients including BlueScope Steel and local mining and quarry operations.
The Role
The role is responsible for coordinating and managing WHS/HR functions across all Coastwide Engineering divisions (Fabrication, CNC Machining, Site).
Your WHS work will cover a balanced mix of:
* Maintain and improve the WHS management system
* Implement and maintain incident reporting systems and registers
* Carry out investigation of incidents and near misses and implement corrective actions
* Liaise with all workers to ensure safety documentation (SWMS, SOP's, etc) are current
* Conduct random weekly safety audits and inspections across sites and workshops
* Assist with project and job planning to ensure safety is at the forefront (Crane lift studies, heavy plant safe operation, SOP's, SWMS, high risk work compliance etc)
* Track and report key safety performance metrics
* Deliver monthly safety updates in management meetings
* Conduct toolbox talks and safety briefings to all divisions
* End to end management of Workers Compensation claims (designated RTW Co Ordinator), including liaising with insurers/medical providers, RTW plans, co ordinating suitable duties and tracking cost of claims
* Respond to safety incidents at all hours
Your HR work will cover a balanced mix of:
* Implement and maintain HR policies and procedures in line with legislation and company direction
* Maintain, review and update company policies in line with legislative requirements and company direction
* Prepare, issue and maintain employee contracts
* Manage disciplinary procedures, performance management and workplace investigations
* Develop and maintain performance review frameworks
* Provide HR advice and support to Managers
* Manage employee relations and workplace issues
* Maintain subcontractor compliance documents and ensure subcontractor relationships are in line with legislation (insurances, declarations, etc)
About You
As a successful candidate, you will need:
* Experience with WHS and HR duties
* Experienced/familiar with CNC workshops, Fabrication workshops and heavy industry site maintenance/projects
* Experience with the safe operation of cranes and EWP's, including an understanding of crane lift studies
* Experience/familiar with client sites, such as Bluescope Steel and Local Mines/Quarries
* Strong safety awareness
* Australian Drivers Licence
* RTW Co Ordinator training preferred
Remuneration
Wages: $100,000 - $125,000 + Super with yearly increases in line with CPI
Monthly Production Bonus
