About the Role
We are seeking a skilled and motivated Exploration Geologist to join our team at our Sunrise Dam Gold Mine. As an Exploration Geologist, you will play a crucial role in discovering new gold deposits and expanding our existing resources.
Key Responsibilities
* Maintain a high standard of safety by complying with all relevant safety instructions, procedures, and rules.
* Build and maintain constructive relationships with staff and contractors.
* Manage underground drill rigs, including data validation and entry.
* Mentor junior geologists and provide guidance on geological logging and data management.
* Design, coordinate, and manage drill programs from exploration to resource definition.
* Interpret and report geological and geochemical results.
* Contribute to geological and ore domain modeling.
About You
To be successful in this role, you will need:
* A relevant tertiary or postgraduate degree in Geology.
* Proven experience working in an underground gold mine operation.
* Experience using 3D modeling software, such as Vulcan and Leapfrog.
* Geological logging skills, including diamond drill core and RC.
* Data validation and management experience, including use of databases like Datashed.
* Knowledge of QAQC practices.
* Strong written and verbal communication skills.
* Leadership and mentorship skills.
