Role Overview
This is an exciting opportunity to work on a family-friendly 8:6 roster at one of our Western Australian operations. As a Senior Geologist, you will be responsible for delivering and maintaining the diamond drill schedule to obtain required data for block models aligned with the mining schedule.
The successful candidate will contribute to delivering a maiden Ore Reserve for Stage 1 during the current financial year. In parallel, drilling is planned to commence within the Fletcher Stage 2 target area in the first half of the next financial year. This result highlights the growth potential of our operations, and while it's a significant milestone, it's just the first step in what may be a multi-decade journey for Fletcher in an expanded mine plan.
Key Responsibilities:
* Accountable for all mine geology activities, including monitoring and tracking ore mining activities.
* Producing and maintaining the diamond drill schedule, ensuring proposals are signed off.
* Contributing to delivering resource model updates upon drill program completion in line with mine planning requirements.
* Geological reconciliation, providing advice to operations to minimize dilution, recover economic mineralization, and maximize commercial outcomes.
* Grade control, ore production, and geological reconciliation standards in conjunction with our Perth Technical Team.
* Assisting in preparing and consolidating site Geological budgets.
* Seeking means of reducing costs and increasing revenue through process improvement and continuous enhancement.
* Supervising and directing Project Geologists, Mine Geologists, Graduate/Junior Geologists, Geology technicians, and Contractors.
Requirements:
* 7+ years' mining experience (5+ years' experience in gold mining).
* Comprehensive understanding of all aspects of the mining cycle from exploration to mining and geological reconciliation.
* Demonstrated technical excellence and best practice methods in grade control, geological modeling, and estimation.
* Ability to accurately forecast budgets and manage costs.
* Demonstrated experience in Leapfrog.
* Tertiary qualification in Geology.
* Demonstrated ability to develop, coach, discipline, and mentor employees in geological roles resulting in improved business outcomes.
* Possesses a current and valid Manual Driver's Licence.
* Possesses a National Police Clearance valid within the last 12 months.
* The ability to pass our pre-employment process.
