Work Location: Solomon & Eliwana
Fortescue's Eliwana mine is located on the traditional lands of the Puutu Kunti Kurrama people
Fortescue's Solomon mine is located on the traditional lands of the Eastern Guruma and Yindjibarndi peoples
Roster: 8D/6R/7N/7R – FIFO ex Perth
As an Emergency Services Officer, you will play a critical role as a frontline responder to all emergency incidents on-site.
You will be responsible for ensuring compliance with emergency management, security, and medical response protocols while actively contributing to the smooth day-to-day operation of the emergency services and medical teams.
This role requires strong leadership, technical expertise, and the ability to maintain operational readiness at all times.
Key Responsibilities
Lead and respond to on-site emergencies, including fire, medical, rescue, and hazardous materials incidents.
Conduct regular inspections and maintain emergency equipment to ensure full operational readiness and compliance with company policies and industry standards.
Provide on-site medical assistance and ensure medical facilities are maintained to a high standard.
Deliver emergency response training and guidance to site personnel and Emergency Response Team (ERT) members.
Support site-wide safety initiatives, including fitness-for-work assessments and compliance with site alcohol and drug policies.
Plan, coordinate, and participate in site emergency drills to enhance response efficiency and preparedness.
Maintain a high level of fitness to perform the role's physical demands effectively.
Qualifications and Experience
Certificate III in Mine Emergency Response & Rescue or Certificate III in Public Safety (Fire Fighting and Emergency Operations)
Certificate IV in Health Care (Diploma or Degree in a related field is advantageous)
Proven competency in Rope Rescue, Road Crash Rescue, Firefighting, Confined Space Rescue, Breathing Apparatus (Open Circuit), and Hazardous Materials (Hazmat) response
Western Australian HR Driver's Licence
Previous experience in emergency response, incident control, and incident management in a mining or industrial environment
Certificate IV in Work Health and Safety (desirable)
Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (desirable)
