Accountant – Audit Role in Melbourne
Our team seeks a highly skilled Accountant to join us for a challenging and rewarding audit role based in Melbourne. This full-time position requires the candidate to possess an Australian qualified degree in accounting, a minimum of 3 years' experience working with a medium to large accounting firm, and strong knowledge of audit procedures, policies, and compliance standards.
The ideal candidate will have excellent attention to detail, analytical and problem-solving skills, as well as strong communication and interpersonal skills with a client-focused approach. Knowledge of financial risk assessment and reporting is also desirable.
Key Responsibilities:
* Complete audit client work/assigned tasks by seniors and managers.
* Assist in planning and execution of audit strategy and completion of audit engagements as directed by client managers.
* Assist to plan and prepare audit approach through consultation with the client and client manager.
* Discuss audit issues with manager/director and liaise with the client on these issues.
* Recognize, manage, and disclose financial risks.
* Conduct data collection, analysis, and interpretation concerning an organization's financial position, cost structures, and trading performance.
* Perform audits and investigations while preparing financial statements and reports for management, shareholders, and regulatory authorities.
* Assess the cost-effectiveness and risk implications of operational processes, activities, policies, and systems.
* Provide management with reports on the presence and effectiveness of the internal control system.
