Your Team
You will report to the Cyber Security Operations Manager and lead the Security Engineering stream of the Cyber Security Operations team. You will collaborate closely with the SOC, infrastructure teams, and broader technology stakeholders to drive secure-by-design and detection-enriched outcomes across Hollard's cloud and on-prem environments.
Your Role
As the Senior Cyber Security Engineer – Team Lead, you will play a critical leadership and technical role within the Cyber Security Operations function. You will lead a team of Cyber Security Engineers, guiding the design, implementation, and optimisation of security infrastructure, with a strong focus on engineering excellence and full log visibility for detection and compliance. You will actively contribute to hands-on engineering work while providing mentorship, coordination, and technical direction for your team.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead and mentor a team of skilled Cyber Security Engineers to deliver operational excellence and security initiatives.
* Oversee day-to-day operations, including vulnerability detection, threat monitoring, incident response, and regulatory compliance (ISO 27001, SOC2, CPS 234).
* Drive automation and security engineering initiatives to enhance efficiency and reduce manual processes.
* Serve as a technical SME in architecture reviews, penetration testing, and infrastructure security improvements.
* Stay ahead of emerging threats, continuously uplift our cyber resilience and improve operational controls.
* Promote cyber awareness and mentor team members to grow technical capability across the organization.
About You
* Demonstrated experience in leading Cyber Security Operations including developing and implementing procedures, playbooks and operational improvements.
* Hands-on expertise with Active Directory, Firewalls, WAFs, IPS, SIEM, Office 365, and Azure
* Experience with developing and documenting Policies, Standards, Procedures, Runbooks, Assessments, Reviews, Incidents and Reports.
* Detailed understanding of Cyber Security frameworks, standards, tools, techniques and methods.
* Familiarity with OWASP Top 10, secure application development practices, and penetration testing techniques.
* Certifications such as CISSP, or equivalent highly regarded
